What airlines are used for flights?
We use numerous airlines, including Fedex, Air France, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Martinair CargoLux, Cal Cargo and Qatar among others. Horse America only ships with airlines experienced in equine transport.
When is payment required?
Export: All accounts are expected to be in paid in full prior to the flight. If full payment has not been received within 3 days of the flight, your flight will be cancelled and cancelation fees may apply.
Import: All account require to be paid in full prior to pickup of your horse from quarantine. Without full payment your horse will not be released into your custody.
What type of payment do you accept?
Payment can be made with credit card or bank transfer via the payment link on your emailed invoice or via wire/ACH. Account details can be found on the bottom of your invoice.
Why do I need to provide my Social Security Number (SSN) when importing or exporting a horse?
To comply with legal regulations set forth by United States Customs, it is necessary to provide your Social Security Number. This requirement ensures that all information regarding the importation or exportation of items—including horses—is properly documented. Specifically, your SSN will be included in the House Airway Bill, which is a vital document for customs purposes.
Will my personal information, including my SSN, be kept confidential?
Yes, at Horse America, we are committed to your privacy. Rest assured that we will never release your personal information. Your data will only be used for customs documentation in compliance with U.S. regulations.
How will my horse be cared for on the plane?
Each horse is accompanied by a certified professional groom to ensure that they are comfortable and safe, as well as to provide the horses with adequate water and hay during its time on the plane.
